# Global Search

> Search across all platform entities — leads, campaigns, funnels, sources, and buyers — from a single search bar in the top navigation.

## Overview

**Global Search** lets you find any record in the Pingtree platform without navigating through menus. From a single search bar in the top navigation, you can locate leads by transaction ID, look up campaigns by name, find sources and buyers, and jump directly to any funnel — all in seconds.

Your recent searches are saved automatically, so frequently accessed records are always just one click away.

## Lead Search Behavior

Lead search automatically detects the format of your query and searches the appropriate field:

| Input Format                       | Field Searched           |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| UUID format (e.g., `3f2504e0-...`) | Transaction ID           |
| Email address format               | Email                    |
| 10-digit number                    | Phone number (mobile)    |
| Any other text | First name and last name |

Results are returned up to a limit of 10 leads per search.

## Scoping Results by Type

To get faster, more focused results, you can scope your search to a specific entity type. Selecting a type filter before searching restricts results to that category only:

* **Lead** (default)
* **Campaign**
* **Source**
* **Buyer**
* **Funnel**

This is especially useful when your search term could match multiple entity types across the platform.

## Recent Search History

Pingtree saves your recent searches on a per-user basis. When you open the search bar without typing, your most recently accessed records are displayed grouped by type:

| Category             | Records Shown       |
| -------------------- | ------------------- |
| Campaigns            | Up to 5 most recent |
| Buyers (Advertisers) | Up to 5 most recent |
| Sources (Affiliates) | Up to 5 most recent |
| Funnels              | Up to 5 most recent |
| Leads                | Up to 5 most recent |

Search history is personal — each user sees only their own recent searches. Frequently accessed records rise to the top as their search count increases.

## Navigating to a Result

Clicking any search result takes you directly to the detail view or settings page for that record. For example:

* Clicking a **lead** result opens the lead detail view with the full transaction record.
* Clicking a **campaign** result opens the campaign overview.
* Clicking a **source** result opens the source single view within its campaign.
* Clicking a **buyer** result opens the buyer configuration within its campaign.
